In 2005, Abby earned the title of Miss Howard County and has been active in pageants since 2000. She loves spending time with T.J. and their daughter, Brielle Elizabeth who is 18 months old. While at Purdue, Marcy obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science in Technology. As Miss Purdue Marcy promoted her platform, The Importance of Family Values, and still holds this work near to her heart. She is currently organizing family community events such as "Family Rocks", a family oriented talent show. Marcy went on to volunteer on the committee for the placeCityKokomo Preliminaries in past years. She has most recently become the director for Miss Hoosier Heartland. She plans to promote a fun program that will forward opportunities to enrich the lives of young women. Marcy is currently a stay-at-home mom of her 9 year old step-son, placeCityJackson and her 3 year old daughter, Morgan. In her spare time Marcy enjoys spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, reading and staying active in her community.
Elise Duncan - Miss Hoosier Heartland Outstanding Teen Director
Elise is a sophomore at Indiana Wesleyan University double majoring in Vocal Performance and Addictions Counseling. Elise was a late bloomer in the pageant scene, but began competing her Sophomore year of High School and fell in love with the Miss America Program. With her large background in theater and music, she felt comfortable competing and placed in each pageant including the Miss Hoosier Heartland Organization and became Miss Ball State Outstanding Teen 2008. She filled her year of service with promoting her platform "Respecting Your Body Through Abstinence" and got to help many teenage girls in daily life issues facing the younger generation of today. Elise quickly found out that she loved being behind the scenes of the pageant world much more than being front and center on stage. Watching other girls' dreams come true and helping them accomplish their goals became her desire. This is Elise's first year as our Teen director and she can't wait for the many more years to come.
